What is the difference between Laptop & Notebook?

I would like to know what is the main difference between Laptop & Notebook?

according to wikipedia a notebook is a book, usually of paper, of which various uses can be made, including writing, drawing, and scrapbooking. Okay I’m done joking.

There is absolutely no difference between a notebook or a laptop. In the earlier days about 10 to 15 years, notebooks were more often used to describe smaller laptops. Now adays, the two terms mean exactly the same thing. Smaller notebooks are often described as ultraportables, and generally are slower but have longer battery life. They’re usually expensive and intended for business use, though it seems to me young women also buy them often, because they think their fashionable. More powerful notebooks, which are larger in size and power hungry, are often called desktop replacements, these are popular among people who want multimedia machines, or entertainment laptops. The vast majority of laptops/notebooks fall somewhere between these two categories.

Two other notebooks you probably have seen are subnotes, and tablets. Subnotes, are really small inexpensive laptops that are mostly used just for email, and word processing. Their pretty new the most common one people will see is the Asus EEPC. They have tiny hard drives, and low power consumption processors that aren’t intended for serious multimedia tasks, and aim to achieve long battery life.

Tablets should be pretty self explanitory. They’ve been around a while but haven’t caught on.
